Pflugerville

Pflugerville traces its roots to the late 1840s, when the Pfluger family bought 160 acres and started a farm, the once sleepy German town is now a fast growing community; located south of Round Rock and approximately 20 minutes north of  downtown Austin and easy access to Highway 45 and the 130 Toll Rd. Known for its affordable prices and convenient location, Pflugerville is popular amongst many first-time homebuyers. Pflugerville homes for sale are typically much more affordable than in Round Rock or Austin.

Pflugerville combines the family-oriented feel of a traditional suburban community with access to new shops and restaurants, many may recognize Pflugerville as the setting for the hit television show Friday Night Lights, a perfect example of the city’s blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Pflugerville is home to 15 city parks, over 30 miles of trails, 500 acres of open space and among the most popular attractions is Lake Pflugerville, the 180 acre reservoir which is ideal for nature lovers who enjoy  swimming, canoeing, kayaking and wind surfing, Lake Pflugerville also offers a 3-mile trail for running, jogging and walking, along with a boat launch for fishing. 

Pflugerville students are served by the Pflugerville Independent School District. With 27 campuses inside both the Austin and Pflugerville city limits, as well as in four other municipalities covering 95 square miles.
